Use AI for research

AI can be an effective sparring partner when you research job postings. You can get help understanding what the company is looking for, finding the most important keywords, and getting questions to contact them.

What can AI help with?

When you have found a job posting, AI can help you with:

  • Understanding the profile: What type of employee is the company looking for?
  • Finding keywords: Which words should you use in your application?
  • Assessing your match: Does your profile fit the position?
  • Finding questions: What can you ask about if you call the company?

Example 1: Find the desired profile

Start by asking AI to analyse who the company is looking for.

Write to AI:

"Review this job posting and tell me what type of employee they are looking for – both professionally and personally."

AI will give you a description of the ideal candidate. Use it to tailor your application and your CV.

Example 2: Find the most important keywords

Keywords are the words and concepts the company uses to describe what they are looking for. When you use the same words in your application, you show that you have read the posting carefully.

Write to AI:

"Analyse this job posting. Which keywords and concepts should I use in my application and CV?"

You get a list of keywords you can incorporate into your material.

Example 3: Assess your match

If you are unsure whether the position suits you, you can ask AI for an assessment.

Write to AI:

"In the last 15 years, I have worked with [X, Y, Z]. I have the following professional qualifications: [list]. I am motivated by [this and that]. How does my profile fit this job?"

The more you tell about yourself, the better assessment you get.

Example 4: Get questions for the company

Many job seekers call the company before applying. A good conversation shows interest and gives you knowledge to target your application.

But what should you ask about? AI can help.

Write to AI:

"I want to call the company before applying for this job. Give me some examples of relevant follow-up questions I can ask in a short conversation of about 5 minutes."

You get questions that show you have studied the job.

How to use it in practice

  1. Find a job posting on Jobindex (most postings from Jobnet are also shown there)
  2. Copy the URL to the posting
  3. Go to the AI tool and insert the link together with your question
  4. Use the answers to tailor your application and prepare your contact

Remember

AI does not give you the final answer. It helps you find knowledge you can work with. You still need to use your own judgement and adapt the material to your situation.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trusting AI blindly: Use it as inspiration, not as the answer
  • Copying directly: Rephrase in your own words
  • Skipping research: AI is a supplement, not a replacement

Try it yourself

  1. Find a job posting on Jobindex
  2. Copy the link
  3. Ask AI to analyse the profile and find keywords
  4. Use the answers to tailor your application

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on all job postings?

It works best on postings from Jobindex, as AI can read the link directly. For other sources, you can copy the text and paste it.

Is it cheating to use AI?

No. AI helps you understand the posting better. You still write your own application – just with better insight.
