Proff.dk is a company database with information about all registered companies in Denmark. It is a powerful tool for finding companies you didn't know – and that might need someone like you.

What is Proff.dk?

Proff.dk retrieves data from the CVR register (the Danish Central Business Register) and gives you access to information about all Danish companies:

• Company name and address
• CVR number (Danish company registration number)
• Industry
• Number of employees
• Financials and key figures

The best part: Basic searches are free.

Note: Proff.dk is best for private companies. For public sector companies, we recommend LinkedIn or Jobindex's archive.

Method 1: Search for a specific company

If you know a company you want to learn more about, you can look it up:

1. Go to proff.dk
2. Type the company name in the search field (you don't need the full name)
3. Click on the relevant company
4. See information about address, size, industry, etc.

Method 2: Find similar companies

Have you found an interesting company? Then you can easily find others that are similar.

1. Open the company's page on Proff.dk
2. Click on "Find lignende" (Find similar)
3. Adjust the criteria (geography, industry, size)
4. Click "Vis firma" (Show company) to see the results

You now get a list of companies similar to the one you started with. Perfect for expanding your company list.

Method 3: Search by industry

If you know which industry you want to work in, you can search directly:

1. Go to proff.dk and click on "Segmentering" (Segmentation)
2. Click on "Brancher" (Industries)
3. Search for your industry in the free text field
4. Select relevant industries from the list
5. Narrow down geographically (select region or municipality)
6. Click "Vis virksomheder" (Show companies)

Method 4: Search by company size

Some job types are primarily found in larger companies (HR, finance, IT, etc.). Here you can search by size:

1. Go to proff.dk and click on "Segmentering"
2. Select number of employees (e.g., minimum 100)
3. Narrow down geographically
4. Click "Vis virksomheder"

Tip: Start with minimum 2 employees – there are many sole proprietorships with 0 employees.
