Profile settings and visibility

Your profile doesn't always look the way you think it does. Here you'll learn to check and adjust your visibility settings.

Your URL address

The default address is long and full of numbers. You can change it to something simple, like your name.

How to do it:

1. Go to your profile
2. Click on "Edit public profile & URL"
3. Edit the URL address on the right side

Remember: The old link will no longer work when you change it.

What can others see?

Under "Edit visibility" you decide who can see what:

• Profile picture: Only connections, network, or everyone?
• Background photo: Who can see it?
• Headline and experience: Make it visible

Recommendation: Make as much as possible visible. Your profile only creates value if others can see it.

Profile in multiple languages

You can create your profile in multiple languages. LinkedIn matches visitors' language to your available profiles.
