Visible to recruiters

Recruiters have access to LinkedIn Recruiter – a tool with more search options. Make your profile visible so they can find you.

Why is this important?

If you don't actively tell LinkedIn that you're open to work, you risk not showing up in recruiters' searches.

Many companies use recruiters in the hiring process. Without visibility, you might not be invited for an interview.

How to activate it

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Click on "Open to" under your name
  3. Select "Finding a new job"

Fill in your preferences

  • Job titles: Add multiple relevant titles
  • Location type: On-site, remote, or hybrid
  • Location: Add multiple regions to appear in more searches
  • Start date: When can you start?
  • Employment type: Full-time, part-time, internship, etc.

Tip: The more options you select, the greater chance of being contacted.

Who can see it?

You can choose:

  • Recruiters only: Not visible to your network
  • All LinkedIn members: Visible to everyone

"Open to Work" frame

You can also add the "Open to Work" frame to your profile picture. This sends a clear signal to everyone.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Not activated: You won't be found
  • Too few job titles: Add plenty
  • Too narrow geographically: Add more areas

Try it yourself

  1. Activate "Finding a new job"
  2. Fill in all preferences
  3. Add the "Open to Work" frame
